Part Three

“Well,” DeeDee said, “looks like it’s just you and me. Rose isn’t coming. Hang on.” She closed the door, and Jon heard footsteps retreat, then re-approach a minute later. She opened the door all the way. Jon smiled. She had put a thin silk robe on over her towel. “Alright, you may as well come in,” she said. “I’ll be ready as soon as I can. Can I get you something?”

Jon smiled. “Can I borrow your towel?”

DeeDee laughed. “No. Nice try,” she shook her head. “There’s wine in the kitchen; help yourself.” She walked on unsteady legs back to her bedroom. Shit, what the hell was he doing? Flirting with her?

Jon watched her go back to her room, and found himself craning his neck to try to keep her in his sights. He chuckled at himself and went into the kitchen. He found the wine and a glass, but not the corkscrew. “DeeDee,” he called. “Where’s the corkscrew?”

In her room, DeeDee jumped. His voice calling out her name did something funny to her insides. “I don’t know, in a drawer somewhere,” she shouted back. “Look around!” Her hands were shaking so much she put her fingernails through her stocking. Cursing, she pulled another set out of the drawer and carefully put them on, attaching them to the garter belt she wore. Sitting on the bed, she dropped her head into her hands and groaned. Apparently loudly. She heard a soft knock on the door.

“Everything alright in there?” Jon asked.

“F-fine,” she answered. “I’ll be dressed in a minute.”

“Okay, take your time.” Jon leaned an arm against the door, the wood smooth under his palm. He would swear he could smell her scent; something light and floral and completely arousing. Sooner than he expected, the door flung open, and he literally fell into DeeDee. Having 130 pounds of man flung at her made DeeDee lose her balance and stagger backward, landing on the bed. Jon landed on top of her.

“Ooof!” she said, as Jon landed on her ribcage. All the air whooshed out of her lungs and Jon started to laugh.

“Sorry! Jesus, are you alright?” He rolled off her quickly and looked down into her face. It was a mask of surprise, excitement, embarrassment, and a little bit of lust.

DeeDee nodded, though tears were forming in her eyes. She still hadn’t caught her breath.

“Breathe, darlin’,” Jon said, smoothing the hair off her forehead.

She took a great gulp of breath and smiled. “Not exactly the way I imagined you making me breathless,” she said, as she sat up. “I’m fine. What the hell were you doing?”

“Uh,” Jon stammered. “Not sure. I got lost in your scent,” he said sheepishly. He raised a handful of her wet hair to his nose and inhaled. “This scent. It was in the hallway and…”

“It’s my shampoo,” DeeDee said inanely, wishing fervently she’d shut up. “The bathroom’s across the hall.”

Jon still had a hold of her hair, and was smelling it.

“Um, Jon?” DeeDee asked. He looked at her. “If we’re going to go out, I need to go dry my hair, which means you need to let it go.” She was flushed pink, and Jon chuckled.

“Sorry, baby,” he said, and reluctantly let her go. He stood and reached a hand out to her, to help her up. DeeDee took the proffered hand, and let Jon raise her unsteadily to her feet. She automatically smoothed out her dress and Jon’s eyes narrowed, wanting to smooth it out over her hips himself. “You look beautiful,” he said. She was wearing a short green dress, cut deep in the cleavage and flaring at her hips. It was flirty and fun. When she was sprawled under him on the bed, he could feel the dress was soft and yielding. When he rolled off her, he saw a flash of thigh above her stockings.

DeeDee blushed. “Thanks. It’s the dress.”

“Nope, it’s the woman.” He brought her knuckles to his mouth and kissed them gently. “Can I bring you a glass of wine while you finish your hair?”

“Sure,” she answered breathlessly. Jon kissed her hand again and left the room. DeeDee went across the hall to the bathroom. The normalcy of rubbing gel in her hands before smoothing it through her hair went a long way to settle her nerves. She turned on the dryer, and flipped her hair over to start drying the underside first. That’s how Jon found her a few minutes later – bent over at the waist, ass moving a little back and forth as she dried her hair. He set the two glasses of wine on the vanity top and knocked loudly on the door jamb.

“Wine’s here!” he shouted loudly, cupping his hands around his mouth.

DeeDee jumped and flipped her hair back, then turned around to grin at him. “Stop sneaking up on me,” she said. She took a fortifying sip of wine, closing her eyes as the sweetness of the grape slid over her palate, and set the glass down again. Picking up her brush, she continued drying and brushing out her hair. She could see Jon reflected in the mirror, and smiled. “You’re hovering. It’s making me nervous.” She screwed up her courage and added, “Either in or out.”

Jon smiled and came all the way into the bathroom, and sat on the edge of the tub. He watched her in the mirror, trying hard to ignore the tightening in his groin. DeeDee watched him watching her, and she dampened. Giving herself a mental shake, she finished with her hair, brushed it out, and tucked the sides behind her ears. Leaning in toward the mirror, she applied light makeup. A spritz of perfume, and she was done.

“Done,” she said, turning around. The look in Jon’s eyes made her heart stop.

“Just beautiful,” he said, standing. He took her hand and leaned in to kiss her cheek. “Shall we go?” he asked, his husky voice telling her he’d much rather stay in.

She needed more time, so she answered, “Yes let’s.”
